A Private Estate Affair for Lauren & Campbell

Lauren and Campbell were wed on the groom’s family estate on a beautiful Autumn day in Milton, Georgia. The couple said their vows in front of family and friends in a clearing between the towering pine trees with the sunset peeking through and string lights overhead.

Following the ceremony, all enjoyed crafted cocktails for the Fizzy Truck and passed hors d’oeuvres as they mingled in the lounge. The reception took place in a grand tent set in the mini horse paddock: the ceiling a canopy of draping, greenery, and lighting, where a mix of round and farm tables were set for a beautiful farm-to-table dinner. After dinner, the cake was cut, mini pies were served, and the guests enjoyed the rest of the evening under the stars before a sparkling send-off.

Botanical Bliss for Natalie & Jake

Nothing speaks romance like a couple saying their vows in a rose garden on a warm June day. Natalie and Jake’s botanical-inspired Southern wedding was full of sweet details, lush blooms, and touching moments. Wedding day begin as the girls sipped champagne in floral robes before dressing the bride Natalie in a stunning Leanne Marshall gown. The designer hand sketched a depiction of Natalie in her dress, such a sentimental keepsake for the bride.

The couple wed at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens in front of a antique door, original to their home, adorned with a lush wreath of greenery and garden roses. The wedding party, donned in blush and grey, surrounded Natalie and Jake as they said their I Dos. During the ceremony, they sweetly released monarch butterflies in honor of Natalie’s mother who passed away a few years ago. There were laughs and tears from all. After ceremony, guests enjoyed signature cocktails among the manicured hedges of the English garden. They signed a vintage botanical book with best wishes.

Romance in the New South

This editorial took place in the dead of winter at Atlanta’s historic Swan House mansion at the Atlanta History Center.

“New Southern” is a celebration of the South’s deepest wedding traditions such as pomp and circumstance, the bride’s trousseau, and the
ultra-feminine mixed with strong masculine touches, all with a modern twist.

Colors included dove, dust, brulee, rose, moss, and branch. Florals were reflective of the season. Texture and materials included linen, rattan, wood, clear glass, silk, paper, tulle, and stone. The neutral palette and strong focus on texture brought simple beauty in every single detail.

From the stunning couple portraits to the organic ceremony altar to the dinner table, each detail was rich in tradition and symbolic of the South.

Some favorite notables included the spread of delicious cuisine including a relish platter, the flowy details of the gown, the mix of dried and fresh flowers and foliage, and the delicate paper details.

A Woodland Windswept Elopement

This elopement was inspired by the fleeting moment of a breeze or a kiss. It is a love story that has flown away to a magical place to meet and recite vows. We chose a breezy gown, with lots of movement and the bride's hair has an upswept wispy look.

Curved lines in lettering and small details dominate the paper suite, as well as the canopy covering the daybed we built in the woods. This incredible installation is plush and looks as those is it growing from the ground. Surrounding the soft, cozy space are lots and lots of white wax candles.

For the additional details, like the bouquet, we wanted an effortless look. This couple has eloped to a forest, gathered greens in hand, their dream dress and favorite suit, and only each other to recite their vows.

The Southern Wedding of Maggie & Greg

Maggie and Greg celebrated their love with the pomp and circumstances that only a Southern fete can exude. This couple hosted one heck of a wedding. Fiddles, grandmama’s coconut cake, peanuts for favors, hay bale couches, a 50-foot vintage doily runner, home-brewed beer… the list goes on and on. One of our most memorable ceremony backdrops to date, florist Amy Osaba and team dressed the tall oak tree with dozens of handmade paper flowers.

Rooftop Celebration for Liz & Zach

This magical spring wedding took place on a rooftop overlooking the Atlanta skyline. Liz & Zach chose The Rooftop at Ponce City Market, a newly renovated Atlanta landmark that offered their guests a taste of a city they love.

The couple wanted the design to reflect their fun personalities, but also their love of sustainability. Design details were understated, organic, and effortless. Colors ranged from soft greys and creamy neutrals to dusty blues with pops of pale goldenrod. Blooms were lush, but garlands and greenery stole the show. From an elegantly draped chuppah to a mix of estate and round tables for dinner, draping and linens add softness to the venue. Paper goods were intentional and clean, sparse calligraphy gave a romatic air to bold fonts.

The evening was filled with unique, personal touches: farm-to-table dinner, dancing and merriment, creative signature kombucha cocktails and a gourmet ice cream bar.

Swan House Romance with Studio Aesthete

This wedding editorial is the most beautiful collaboration between some of the most creative minds in our industry. We had the pleasure of designing and styling a table scape and some details with Rebekah Clark Moody of Forage Botanical and Martha of Martha McIntosh Creative Consulting. It all came together so beautifully and we were in awe watching photographer Louise of Taylor & Porter from the UK at work.

In additional to a stunning color palette and the richest of details, we adored every element. Regarding the table design, we chose to layer many textures and pieces together to form a story. We began with a rich linen and added some overlays. Next we paired simple china with antique napkin rings. Some intricate glassware and vintage candlesticks added height to the center of the table, while the florals brought it all to life. And finally, hand-lettered place cards completed the place settings.

The Sweetest Day for Shona & Charles

We love a good love story. Shona and Charles both grew up in Europe and met as a pilot and flight attendant. Fast forward to planning their wedding and they wanted to include traditional romance and a touch of Southern style.

The couple had a stunning church ceremony, with Shona in a ballgown fit for a princess and Charles in the most dapper tux. The two headed to a beautiful reception where guests enjoyed cocktails, a Southern infused menu (including fried chicken) and for dessert, pie pops!

We just adored the soft florals, bubbly champagne, and a few Kate Spade details (take a peek at those bow shoes on the bride!).

Shona and Charles also had the (literally) the sweetest favor - personalized and hand-canned jars of jam from the bride's parents' home of California.

What a lovely day it was!

An Evening at The Fox with Clara & Tanner

All the theatrics that perfectly pair with a wedding venue, The Fox Theatre is fabulous.  From The Marquee to The Eqyptian Ballroom, it's iconic features make anyone hosting a celebration there, like Clara & Tanner, feel like a star.

The couple had a first look at the Georgian Terrace Hotel across the street from the Theatre. Guests arrived at The Fox through the main entrance, just like theatre attendees. For the ceremony, we worked with the couple to dream up a draping/lighting backdrop. It glowed so beautiful in the historic venue.

The color palette included shades of white, grey & lavender, with some accents of grape. Mercury glass and vintage silver were used as metallic accents. Linens and lounge furniture brought texture and richness to the grand space. Florals were lush and organic in shape, a perfect contrast to crisp tuxedos and the cool winter air. And after the late night snack and the lights dimmed, the band turned up and the party really began.

An All White Occasion | BotanicATL

This group editorial inspiration shoot took place at Atlanta’s industrial Ambient+ Studio. The factory windows shone mid-morning light into a space filled with several styled wedding vignettes.

Two impeccably-dressed brides were wed in front of a greenery installation and white wishbone chairs. A minimalist tablescape was featured with a collection of candles, wild blooms and greenery, stoneware, and dipped flatware.

The paper suite, rings, and other details were clean and sophisticated. Vines and botanical wonders brought life to an otherwise neutral palette of blanc, birch, concrete, dust, and onyx. The cake had a beautiful texture and was the centerpiece for a throwback lounge with wicker chairs. The brides stole the show with their chemistry and epic ensembles -- I mean, take a look at that cape!

A Wedding in the Mountains for Sarah & Casey

This beautiful North Georgia wedding takes place right when the days of summer in the South kiss the first breezes of autumn. Sarah and Casey were wed on the grounds of Sugarboo Farms, surrounded by trees and their loved ones. They recited their vows under a simple birch chuppah. And after the kiss, were showered with dried chamomile buds.

Guests then gathered around the pool for signature cockatils and locally-inspired appetizers before sitting down at farm tables for an initimate family style dinner. Design inspiration was pulled from interesting botanicals and tropical leaves and the warm colors of a sunrise. Notable details included an array of striking bridesmaid dresses, hand-illustrated paper goods, and impressive confections.

As day turned into night, guests danced and cozied around a campfire with s'mores, the most mountain-y way to end a perfect day.

Garden of Dreams for Lauren & Austin

Dunaway Gardens is always such a dreamy location for a wedding in Georgia, and the gardens couldn't have looked better that Spring day for Lauren & Austin.

The couple wed in the stunning greenery blanketed amphitheater in front of family and friends. The bride Lauren added so many personalized elements that made this day truly memorable. From the lovely paper parasols to the hand-lettered signage, stunning ring boxes and other fine touches, she created so many nuances that spoke to her artistic nature.

The bridesmaids wore mismatched dresses to perfectly complement Lauren's off the shoulder gown. The bright color palette, long bouquet ribbons, and showstopping protea really stood out as memorable details.

The most sentimental photos  of the day included the couple portraits of Lauren & Austin amongst the lush background. And a tear-jerking moment: when the father of the bride first took a peek at his baby girl.

Hindu-American Cultural Wedding Celebration at The Foundry at Puritan Mill in Atlanta | Simply Charming Socials | Atlanta Wedding Planner

We're oftentimes inspired by our clients traditions. Their heritage, culture, and sentimental nuances that make them who they are. Sejal and Narayana's beautiful Hindu-American celebration was a feast for the eyes. The merging of their backgrounds combined with their American roots was the perfect blend of magic.

Sejal & Narayana's wedding, as with many Indian nuptials, was a multi day affair. We had the pleasure of working with the couple on their Saturday celebration, beginning with the traditional baraat in the early morning, following by the dreamy Hindu ceremony set on the most magnificent stage, and ending with ice cream, a sweet treat for guest.

After a lunch (which smelled and tasted incredible), guests parted to rest before the party began. The bride and groom took some lovely portraits and then changed into more American wedding attire. There was music, dancing, a gorgeous reception, and incredible cheesecake dessert table, with all the toppings. This is one for our history books.

Linda and Jonathan chose to say their vows in front of only their closest friends and family on a beautiful winter's day in the Blue Ridge mountains of North Georgia. In the rustic cabin, their loved ones gathered for a weekend of relaxing festivities and the celebration of the couple. The rich color palette was a nod to the bride’s Swedish heritage and will included whites and creams, pale grey, shades of blue, and a golden mustard yellow.

A Stunning Winter Fete for Emily & Jon

We chose a clean palate for the wedding: deep navy, crisp white, and the glimmer and glow of tarnished brass. As a girl who believes the bigger the bow, the better, it’s needless to say I was head over heels for Emily’s wedding gown. And as she and Jon flew home from Sweden to host their winter fete in January, the ensemble wouldn’t be complete without a fur shawl.

A Shower for Kelly & Baby Hamm

This baby shower celebrating mama-to-be Kelly Hamm was hosted at Yebo Beach Haus in Buckhead. Friends and family gathered for a chic brunch and to shower the much anticipated baby boy.

The color palette was neutral with whites and creams and greys, plus hints of baby boy in the dusty blue and navy. The bright, chic restaurant was transformed with French country-style furnishings, greenery and lush blooms, and thoughtful details.

Guests were welcomed with mimosas and mocktails, before being seated at estate farm tables for brunch. Lush floral runners of green blooms topped dusty blue runners. Each place setting was accented with a hand-lettered place card, menu, grey napkin, and small favor bag. Other details included a dessert display with a marble naked cake, cookie dough cups, and house-made macarons. Other favorite accents included large white balloons, a hedge photo wall stating "and so the adventure begins," and the prettiest of rose favors.

Behind the Most Romantic Winter Affair

In collaboration with Holly Carlisle of Rosegolden, we explored the most exquisite palette for a wedding – moody, rich, and jewel-toned. We wanted it to feel deeply romantic.

Jewel and berry tones have a dramatic and sensual quality that we both found very inspiring. Using bold color can be intimidating so we wanted to explore those tones and textures to show how they can be combined in an eclectic, graceful, and balanced way.

From a styling perspective, much of the inspiration for this shoot came from balance in weight, color, and texture. Where we had ink candles, we chose some blush florals. With soft, fleshy figs, we added hard walnuts. Delicate glassware is anchored with petrified wood, almost stone-like coasters. We chose a bulky wood table and set it with wiry bistro chairs. A tulle-drenched gown balanced a perfectly structured suit. Every element had an opposite counterpart.

Baby Shower inspired by The Velveteen Rabbit

The Velveteen Rabbit, with its watercolor imagery and touching story was an instant inspiration for this baby shower. We selected a team of artists and professionals who we entrusted to bring this storybook to life.

Summerour Studio’s courtyard provided the perfect background, and we were lucky (yes, lucky) to have an overcast day. The neutral palette of cream and white was paired so well with tons of lush greenery.

Some favorite details included the intimate table set for brunch, the subtle bunny accents here and there, and the vintage silver and glass plates used at each place setting.

We added simple, yet meaningful touches such as watercolor stationery, delectable pastries, and fabric wrapped gifts. The handwritten runner and color pop mocktails have become signature touches of ours. And the day wouldn’t have been complete without a glowing mommy-to-be.

A Courthouse Wedding for Sydney & Dustin

The romantic black tie fete to celebrate the love of Sydney & Dustin took place in a historic landmark in the heart of the Decatur Square. The old courthouse in the Dekalb History Center offered a clean slate with its floor-to-ceiling white marble and large antique arched windows, which even with the rain, let in the lightness of a cool November day.

For the color palette, deep jewels tones are married with soft blushes that carried throughout each detail of the design. From rich blooms to delicate handmade paper, each element was perfectly bespoke. Pops of gilded goodness sneak in at every turn -- such a magical sight to behold.

After a very touching ceremony (few dry eyes were to be found), guests retreated for cocktails. Upon reveal of the reception, guests returned to the ballroom where candlelight brought the room aglow for dinner. As everyone enjoyed each other's company for a delightful meal and delectable wedding cake, there was a romantic air about the room.

A Poolside Toast to McKenna & Patrick

McKenna and Patrick celebrated their engagement with a summer poolside soiree at the bride's family residence. Sophisticated and chic, the color palette was a mix of whites and creams, with small touches of golden champagne, deep navy, and lots of greenery accents. Guests entered the backyard through a grand white balloon arch, where they were greeted by butler-passed Mexican layer dip shooters and cocktails. The pool was decorated with suspended white balloons and glowing orbs. After cocktails and toasts to the couple, a casual dinner of gourmet tacos was served. The bar was also a favorite detail: a greenery wall backdrop with a neon sign highlighting The Hartmanns.

Guests spent the event poolside, with plenty of candles and clusters of lanterns to add light and ambiance. As the DJ overlooked the crowd from the balcony, he’ll set the party vibe. Late into the evening, all enjoyed sipping on signature cocktails such as Pisco sours (a nod to the groom’s Peruvian heritage) and mojitos, enjoying games like beer pong under the bistro lights on the lawn, and indulging in fresh churros dipped in Nutella & chocolate for dessert.

Inspired by Sonnet XVII

This elopement editorial is inspired Pablo Neruda's Sonnet XVII. It evokes romance in it’s most raw form. Sweet words of lettered poetry adorn gauzy fabric and cake. Taper candles, a breezy gown, and rich lush blooms all provide movement and texture. Mauve is the key color, highlighted by an incredible panel of neutrals and punctuated by deep mulberry. A large floral installation set the scene for vows. We had the lines of poetry displayed on stepping stones. A table set for two is the perfect way to have a first meal as husband and wife.

An excerpt from the sonnet:

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way
than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

Private Estate Celebration for Taylor & Kyle

Taylor and Kyle were wed on a beautiful Saturday in July at Northbrook United Methodist Church, with a reception at the bride’s family estate, Dogwood Farm.

This summer soiree was inspired by Taylor's love of impressionism art and the couple’s Southern roots, with a delicate watercolor palette and subtle details. Taylor in a classic gown and Kyle in a crisp navy suit set the stage for the elegance of this garden party. The color palette consisted of creams and whites with a range of cool tones from ice to French blue to ink.

Following the church ceremony, guests arrived at the family residence where they were greeted with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and lawn games. After a bit of mingling, all were invited under the tent for a Southern dinner. After the meal, guests took a stroll to the back of the home where dancing and dessert took place poolside. With toasts, the live band, and popsicles to cool down after a warm day, Taylor & Kyle along with friends and family, relaxed and enjoyed the rest of the memorable evening.

Red & White Backyard College Send-off

The Wardlaw Family hosted a summer send-off for Atlanta-based Rhodes College incoming freshman, including their daughter Patsy, along with their families. The upscale backyard barbecue was held for 70 guests at their home. The color palette was inspired by school colors red & black with nods to Rhodes’ locale of Memphis, Tennessee.

The Class of 2023 was welcomed to mix and mingle amongst the lawn spotted with red and white gingham dressed tables. Crudite was served on handlettered wooden boards. Mason jars filled with flavored water and sweet tea will provide a cool drink for all, but the star to sip was a signature mocktail named after the school mascot.

Students met their classmates, snapped photos in front of a balloon backdrop, and enjoyed some lawn games before the bbq (and all the fixins) was served. And for dessert, and as a takeaway, milk & cookies - perfectly alluding to late night studying snacks.

A Vineyard Wedding for Courtney & Brock

It was a gorgeous day in September when Courtney and Brock tied the knot in front of family and friends. In a vineyard nestled in the North Georgia Mountains, guests felt transported to Napa or Tuscany.

The strings played as the wedding party made their way through the vines to a ceremony on the hilltop in a valley. Bridesmaids in pale blue surrounded their best friend Courtney, groomsmen in tuxes stood up for Brock, and the little ones stole the show.

A color palette of french blue and pale grey set the stage for the reception. Greenery and floral prints were also incorporated in the details.

Some notables: personalized welcome totes featuring vino & mini cheese boards with brie, the calligraphed escort boards, tuscan herb infused olive oil favors, and the vintage getaway car that the newlyweds said farewell in after they escaped through a sea of bubbles.

A Day in Decatur with Lindsay & Joel

A beauty queen and a gentleman spent months planning their magical day, a gorgeous wedding in early autumn at the Dekalb History Center, a historic courthouse in the downtown Decatur, Georgia.

With Lindsay in a dress that girly girls dream of (gasp, that BOW!) to Joel in his white dinner jacket, these two looked as though they were made for this day.

The ceremony, with it’s moving personally-penned vows left guests tearful with joy and admiration of the couples’ love. And later, the toasts had everyone laughing and so moved once again.

The courthouse was adorned with white blooms and greenery in gold vessels, burgundy accents in the linens, and blush details. Tables were perfectly set for guests to enjoy brunch and mimosas. For sweets, the couple chose an array of mini donuts displayed on the piano. And in each and every corner, a special thoughtful detail, such as a collection of family wedding portraits.

A Winter White Wedding for Sloan & Brian

Sloan and Brian had a beautiful black-tie winter wedding in the bride's Georgia hometown. From the church ceremony at sunset, with the rays peeking through the grand cathedral windows, to the beautiful reception at a country club ballroom, the event was chic and timeless. The wedding party stunned in black-and-white attire. Sloan's gown was a showstopper and the perfect nod to the design of the wedding--classic, elegant, with a touch of sparkle.

Notable details included the drapery and candlelight that bathed the reception space, the moving toasts (especially from the Father of the Bride), and a couple of surprises throughout the evening: lottery scratches under every guest's seat and trays of ice cream bars passed late-night.
